"41"
41 as of yesterday! Iknow its only a number and you are only as old as you feel but there are somedays when I feel like i'm 51 or even 61! It's times like these when I want desperatly to get on the bike because its like taking some kind of youth pill it makes all the aches and day to day hoopla go away for a short time. When i'm on the bike I honestly feel like I did when I first started riding mtb's , you know what I mean when you hit that long tight twisted singletrack and you are just flowing through the woods, faster and faster and you don't want it to end because you know what is waiting for at the end of the ride, so you try and ride just a couple more miles just to savor it just a little longer but a last it has to end . This kind of ride can hold you over luckily for a couple of days until you can escape once more. Ilove everything about bikes and especially riding them, as my wife would probably say i'm addicted. So be it!! There are worse things.. Later..

Lance to do the Leadville 100!!
This is going to be cool to see what Lance can do in this type of race.. My personal opinion is LANCE will train and come into this race and crush most of the competition. He says he is retired but lance is to competitive to just roll in around 9 hrs. I'm thinking it will be him and Dave Weins battling it out for a time around 7hrs. I hope with all the hype around this race that some one will televise it or put it on the cycling.tv on the computer.

Rampages!!
Finally got my Panaracer Rampages and I think I'm going to like them alot. They are big and thats what I need with the rigid fork (little more cush). I ordered these things from Black Dog Bike back in August (I think ) and James could'nt get me any because they sold out in like 5 min. I finally ordered them from another bike shop and James being the nice guy that he is understood. Thanks James!!I can't wait to get out on the trail with these but I will have to wait until Sunday(no hunting on Sunday) , so I don't get shot. Check out the pics and see what you think..Later..go ride!!!!!

The ride. Big wheels rollin!
This is the bike. Finally finished except for Rampage tires which are coming next week from the Path bike shop. This is what I hope to be riding and competing in several 12,18 and 24hr events next season. I had better get on the bike if I am even going to finish. My time is limited due to the weather and the season(Christmas, Thanksgiving) and my two wonderful children. I will have to commute more to get in some much needed miles. Dust off the road bike!I must get off here I have to go put up Christmas lights. go ride..

40's not to old?
Hey this is my first entry into the blogging scene as it is also my first year on a single speed bike. I have been riding bikes for what seems all my life but I had become sort of complacent about my riding and I needed something to get my blood flowing, something to get me excited about riding again. I found that something in the form of a 29er single speed! I gambled in buying this bike but it was a winner. Now all I want to do is get out and ride and the harder the better. This bike takes me back a ways when I first started riding mountainbikes. Some of you might be old enough to remember riding a mountainbike before suspension. Although I am not as young as I was then and it has taken some time for me to get used to the rigid ride of a steel fork . You must pick your lines and not just plow through with a fork taking the punishment for you. Don't get me wrong I still like a good suspension fork but it was'nt what I needed I needed a new challenge but an old familiar one that I had almost forgotten. Back to the title I wondered if I might be crazy for starting single speeding at my age but I got alot of encouragement . It seems that there are alot of guys my age riding single and remembering there roots and just enjoying the fact that we are still in great shape no matter what our age . Like they say you are only as old as you feel and right now i'm feeling about 29 and holding..
